Bootstrapper.com is an independent publication and toolkit for people who build, buy and own profitable businesses. We focus on the practical jobs between deciding to buy a business and owning one well: valuing it, financing it, finding and evaluating it, running the deal process, and owning and growing it.
What we believe
- Ownership compounds. Owning a profitable business, whether you build it or buy it, is one of the most durable ways to create independence.
- Numbers before narratives. A deal should work on paper before anyone falls in love with it.
- Plain English wins. Valuation, financing and diligence are learnable. We explain them without jargon.
What we publish
- The Deal Toolkit: free calculators and checklists that run in your browser.
- Guides: long-form articles on valuation, acquisition financing, buying a business, letters of intent, due diligence and ownership.
- Templates: documents such as our letter of intent template, free to use and adapt with your advisors.
How we make money
Today, we don’t. The site is free and has no advertising or paid placements. We publish a free newsletter. In the future we may offer paid templates or introductions to service providers such as lenders or advisors. Any commercial relationship will be clearly labelled, and it will not change our editorial content or tool outputs. See our editorial standards.
